WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DISTANCE EDUCATION AND FORMAL EDUCATION?
When we compare formal education and distance education; In formal education, lessons are taught in a classroom environment, whereas in distance education, lessons are taught via a virtual classroom. In formal education, students are given face-to-face assignments and projects to do research, while in distance education, assignments and projects are given via a system called (Learning Management System). In formal education, midterm and final exams are held face-to-face so that students can be evaluated, while in distance education, exams (in the form of project assignments) are held via the internet.

ARE THE COURSES WE SEE THE SAME AS IN FORMAL EDUCATION?
The curriculum is the same, but the content of the courses has been adapted to the internet. Distance Education is a teaching method that is no different from classical learning methods, but is a modern education – teaching method using the latest technology.
WILL THERE BE A DIFFERENCE IN THE DIPLOM AND STATUS BETWEEN THE DIPLOM OBTAINED THROUGH DISTANCE EDUCATION AND THE DIPLOM OBTAINED THROUGH FORMAL EDUCATION?
There is no status difference between a distance education diploma and a formal education diploma. Compared to those who only receive formal education, you are not required to continue your education at university.
WHAT IS NOT DISTANCE EDUCATION?
Distance education is not a second-class education used alongside formal education.
Distance education is not a form of education used by poor countries; this system is primarily implemented by the richest and most industrialized countries in the world.
WHAT ARE THE REGISTRATION PERIOD AND THE REQUIREMENTS AND DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION?
To register for associate and undergraduate programs, you must have at least a high school diploma, and to register for graduate programs, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree.
The documents required for registration are as follows:

WHAT IS DISTANCE EDUCATION?
Distance Education is a learning method prepared as an alternative to traditional learning methods. In this method, there are efficient programs developed for students. It is an institutional education activity in which students, teachers and teaching materials in different places are brought together through communication technologies. Thus, students who want to continue their education life can easily continue their education through information technologies without making any spatial changes.
HOW ARE THE EXAMS CONDUCTED?
At Brussels Capital University, passing a class is based on projects, not exams. A project topic is given to students based on the courses they take in certain periods. These project assignments are graded. In this way, the student’s course success is determined. With this method, students are also asked and provided to use the information they have acquired concretely.
BRUSSELS CAPITAL UNIVERSITY EQUIVALENCE STATUS IN TURKEY
Brussels Capital University is a higher education institution with accreditation in the EU. The University’s Distance Education Programs do not yet have equivalence in Turkey.
In the event that the Distance Education Programs are granted equivalence by the Council of Higher Education, all conditions specified in Article 10 of the Equivalence Regulation will be met by the University.
(Article 10 of the Regulation on Equivalence of Higher Education Diplomas Abroad dated 06.11.2010 and numbered 27751: Diplomas received from distance education programs are accepted or rejected after being evaluated according to the provisions of this Regulation, provided that the higher education institution that issues the diploma and the program in which the education is provided are primarily recognized as an institution authorized to grant diplomas by the competent authorities of the country in which they operate, accredited by accreditation or quality assurance organizations and an institution recognized by the Council of Higher Education, accepted for entrance to a higher education, the total credit of the program is in accordance with the total credit of the equivalent formal education program in that country, the program achievements determined in formal education are compatible with the program achievements of the distance education of the same program, and the measurement and evaluation system of the distance education program is auditable, the distance education provided abroad is not in Turkish, the program in which the education is provided is equivalent to a similar Turkish higher education program, the level of education and field of education are clearly determined.)
In case of equivalence of distance education programs, students who graduate from these programs are subject to the equivalence They will apply to the unit INDIVIDUALLY and follow the equivalence procedures INDIVIDUALLY.
DO YOU PROVIDE EDUCATION IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES?
Brussels Capital University provides education in Turkish and English in Turkey. However, with changes in educational materials and teaching staff, it is among our goals to offer education in different languages in the future.
HOW MANY YEARS OR TERMS IS THE EDUCATION DURATION?
The duration of education at Brussels Capital University is 4 years for undergraduate programs and 2 years for associate and master’s degree programs. However, depending on work performance, these periods can be reduced to almost half. This should be considered as an additional feature of distance education.
IS THERE ANY MANDATORY ATTENDANCE?
There is no attendance requirement at Brussels Capital University. Courses can be studied at any time. In addition, courses are monitored; however, projects are not given to students for unfinished courses. For this reason, it is very important for students to study without neglecting their courses.
WHAT ARE THE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS?
The basic materials our students need are computers and internet connection. Through these basic materials, students follow the courses directed by Brussels Capital University.
IS THERE ANY REPEAT OF CLASSES OR LESSONS?
The student must receive a sufficient grade from the project he/she has prepared. If he/she cannot receive a sufficient grade, he/she will not be able to take the next term’s courses. Therefore, in case of failure, the student will retake the same course the next term and prepare the assignment again.
DO YOU OFFER EXAM-FREE TRANSITION FOR TWO-YEAR GRADUATES?
Yes. The student can be transferred by being exempted from the courses he/she has taken up until then.
DOES ANYONE FROM UNIVERSITIES ABROAD RECOGNIZE THE UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE THAT I WILL RECEIVE FROM YOU?
The diploma received from our university is an internationally valid diploma. It is valid in universities abroad that provide similar education and applications can be made to these universities for master’s or doctoral programs. The university applied to may or may not accept the application based on the students’ qualifications.
DO I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REGISTER DIRECTLY FOR MASTER'S PROGRAMS?
If the student who will apply has a bachelor’s degree, he/she can apply to master’s programs. It is recommended that the master’s program he/she is interested in be related to the completed bachelor’s program.

Yes. Especially our people who have graduated from any undergraduate program and are working will be able to learn and see in other departments they want to study and continue their business life.
DO I HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO DELETE MY REGISTRATION AT ANY TIME?
Withdrawal is possible provided that certain conditions are met. These conditions are clearly stated in the Brussels Capital University Registration Agreement and will also be explained to students in detail during the registration interview.
